Blaydon Fireworks brings together a funfair, bonfire and fireworks for a family night out. The film needed to convey the feeling of the event and the people enjoying it, while taking care with close views of children.
The approach
We looked for ways to show the evening through its atmosphere and activity: the fairground, the bonfire, the fireworks and the wider crowd. Framing and shot choice helped communicate the warmth and excitement of the event without relying on identifiable close-ups of children.
That balance matters at family events. The aim is to give future visitors a sense of what the night is like while respecting the privacy of the families who are there.
Event films with care
Filming plans for public family events should be agreed with the organiser. We discuss access, safeguarding guidance, any restrictions on filming and the intended use of the finished film before the event.
